Bill More
Bill More is a designer and craftsman with over a decade of experience in Furniture design. Bill is a self-taught furniture maker building each piece by hand. Often featured in such publications as Oregon Home magazine, area of design, Dwell, San Francisco Chronicle and Artisan N.W. magazine.
Bill started his design career while studying architecture at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY as well as Boston Architectural Center, Boston, MA.
“My passion for nature fuels my design process, as does the industrial train yard next to my shop inspires my daily fabrication process. While my build process is often chaotic and dirty, the end goal is a clean, elegant balance of complimentary materials. I focus and often obsess over relationships, always asking why throughout my process. As in all of the great forms that exist within nature, architecture and design, there is always a shared language of balance and relationships throughout its parts.”
Bill's shop creates little waste, and he is always conscious about his environmental impact. He prefers using steel as his key ingredient since a large majority of its content comes from recycled material. He also uses sustainably harvested and locally salvaged wood as much as possibly (walnut and madrone are abundant in the Rogue valley). Bill builds pieces with passion, sweat and care that are designed to become the focal point of a room for generations.
