I HEART OREGON OPENS AT HIGH DESERT GALLERY, FEBRUARY 2, 2012 -- BEND OREGON

Come celebrate with us as we host “I Heart Oregon”, our annual group show where the artists show their love and interpretation of Oregon in a variety of mediums. “I Heart Oregon”, runs from February 2 through February 28, 2012 at High Desert Gallery located at 10 NW Minnesota Avenue at The Oxford. High Desert Gallery is open daily and the events are free to attend and open to the public. 

I Heart Oregon artists: Judy Hoiness, Valerie Winterholler, Janet Rothermel, Ingrid Lustig, Renee Hartig, Morgan Madison, J & R Gumaelius, Judy Clinton, and guest artists. Custom Framing provided by High Desert Frameworks! 

Preview Day: Thursday, February 2, 10am - 6pm. An opportunity for visitors and collectors to see the new work prior to art walk. 

First Friday Gallery Walk Reception: Friday, February 3, 5pm - 9pm. Come see our new artist's work and enjoy refreshments. 

A Story ... Opens at High Desert Gallery through April 11, 2012.

High Desert Gallery is excited to announce guest artist, Mardi Wood, February 17 to April 11, 2012. “A Story...”, exhibition is featured at High Desert Gallery, 10 NW Minnesota Avenue at The Oxford Hotel in downtown Bend, Oregon.  

Mardi Wood's ceramic work is the result of a process developed over many years of making. Evidence of the artist's hands can be felt in her work. The balance and subtle weight of each piece have been created by fine adjustments made at every step of construction. Inspired by her roots in the Northwest and her family home on the Columbia River, Woods' vessels are painted with layers of glaze and oxides built up during repeated firings. Woods now lives in Northern California, and has a second residence in Italy. Images of Maremma cattle, drawn from the Italian landscape, often appear in her recent work.
