The Artist Preview Day opens the exhibition and sale on Thursday, October 6, from 10am to 6pm and provides an opportunity for visitors and collectors to see the new work prior to the opening Artist Reception to be held during First Friday Gallery Walk, October 7, from 5 – 9 pm. The artists will be present during First Friday Gallery Walk. Come see our new artist's work and enjoy refreshments. The 2011 Trout Unlimited Convention is in town and we have the opportunity to meet them as they enjoy their food service. It may not appear but we are open for business so if you are a local please don't let the big white elephant (the tent) in front of the gallery stop you from reaching our front door!

Click for Show InformationThe planning starts months in advance and takes a huge effort for the artist to prepare, create, deliver and present their work. As with the artist, the prep work for the gallery also starts months in advance, PR, press, social media, web updates, invites, mailings, newsletters, creating a buzz, framing, hanging and then it's show time.
It's a lot of work.
But it's also the fun of it all. Allowing people to enjoy the artwork whether purchased or not. The exhibitions allow us to highlight the artists work in the best possible light and then watch it find new homes.
It's a lot of work.
And we wouldn't have it any other way.
Here's a quick pic of Judy Hoiness' wall from early September. The two large red/orange originals ( "View from the Badlands Rock" ) are now sold and not available however the other work is up and ready to find new homes.
Judy will present a complete new show of about 15 original paintings for the show. Thomas Hughes has five new works as well and the show will be great! Here's the show information. We hope you can attend First Friday and meet both Judy and Thomas. Save the date!

You can find us today in Sisters Oregon for the last day of the Sisters Folk Festival. We posted yesterday with links to the schedule etc ...
Yesterday we very much enjoyed the AM performance from Matt the Electrician and then an evening performance by Willy Porter.
You can catch Willy today (Sunday) as well.
Starting at 10am is the Community Performance (It was called the "Gospel Show" in past years) and I'm sure that it will have a 9/11 overtones as it should.

What a wonderful "Circle The Wagons" hosted by Johnsmith last night at the Sisters Folk Festival.
Dala and Matt the Electrician were great last nigth. Enjoyed local talent Willie Carmichael plus others.
Today (Saturday) we are working the gallery and frameshop but will sneak away and catch the night events and all day on Sunday. Sunday's line up looks great and looking forward to catching Willy Porter.
Off to check out (again) Matt and will catch part of Johnsmith this AM.

How to BendFilm event downtown!
Date: Wed. Sept 21
Time: 5:30-6:30
Place: Riverfront Plaza on the heels of the Wed. farmers market
What: The purpose of this event is to get locals excited about BendFilm! attendees will get a run down on what to see, who to look for, why it’s cool, how much it costs, what’s going on, and why they should care about BendFilm!
How: We’ll set up chairs, have a BendFilm info table, serve a small sampling of Bend Brewing Beer, raffle off tickets and an all access pass.
