Paul Alan Bennett -- Red Wheelbarrow

In a previous post we announced our
Fall Bounty event at High Desert Gallery in Sisters Oregon. The fine
art exhibition and sale is part of “Celebrate National Art and
Framing Month
” at High Desert gallery and includes some of Central
Oregon's best and brightest contemporary artists. The Fall “Bounty”
show opens on October 1 runs and through October 31, 2008 with an
Open House Reception on October 11 & 12th. Several guest artists
have joined in on the fun and have contributed one or more original
paintings as part of the group “Bounty” show. We hope you can
stop by the gallery in October and especially during Sisters' Fall
Harvest Fair
on the weekend of October 11th and 12th.

A Central Oregon icon and nationally
known Oregon artist, Paul Alan Bennett has captured fruits of the
labor and the resulting year end gardening tasks in a wonderful
watercolor (gouache) on paper, titled “Red Wheelbarrow.” Please
join us in October to view this and many more “Bounty” works of
art from special guest and gallery artists including Paul

The end of summer brings the abundance
of the harvest as well as the time to clean out the garden beds.
At the Sisters Community Garden this is a big group effort, taking a
variety of garden tools and wheelbarrows going back and forth from
the owner's garden spot to the compost piles. As a group effort, it
is an enjoyable time. Each wheelbarrow load is a clear way to
measure one's efforts. This can be very satisfying. The whole
process is a good way to be aware of the cycle of the seasons and to
share with others in the community.
